Neha Kakkar: Honey Singh says my voice is like sex

Neha Kakkar got everyone swooning with 'Second Hand Jawaani' (Cocktail), 'Dhating Naach' (Phata Poster Nikhla Hero) and 'London Thumakda' (Queen), thanks to her unconventional voice and effervescent avatar.

The vocalist, who gave her first hit with music composer Pritam, has collaborated with him again for 'Tukur Tukur' , which features in Shah Rukh Khan's recently-released film. The superstar's ardent fan says, "I was so crazy about him that I even did a song for him called SRK Anthem. When I recorded 'Tukur Tukur', I didn't know it was for his film. I'm over the moon."

The petite singer is also excited about her new single, 'Car Mein Music Baja', written and composed by her brother Tony Kakkar. She claims, "It has recorded lakhs of views online within five days of its launch." Though Neha has a flair for peppy songs and 'Manali Trance' (The Shaukeens) is her favourite track, she admits she wants to experiment with other genres. "During 'Sunny Sunny' (Yaariyan), Honey Singh told me that my voice is like sex. Dance numbers suit my voice, but I've also done two Punjabi songs, 'Hanju' and 'Akhiyan', in the soft space," she elaborates.



She showed her dance moves, too, in the single, 'Wedding Da Season', alongside Shilpa Shetty Kundra. "I'm thankful to producer Bhushan Kumar for giving me this chance. I wasn't supposed to dance; but when choreographer Ganesh Acharya saw me perform, he was surprised," smiles the artiste. She was also the first to shoot a selfie video three years ago with her song 'Bottle Khol'. "At that time, it was a rare phenomenon. But I was delighted after 'Aao Raja's selfie video became successful," she signs off.

Chittiyaan Kalaiyaan: Starring Jacqueline Fernandez, this is song video from the movie "Roy". Sung by Kanika Kapoor, the track became widely popular and still is, having received 61,874,467 views.

Samjhawan unplugged: From the movie "Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, the unplugged version of "Samjhawan" was sung by Alia Bhatt, and the soulful track instantly became everyone's favourite. It is one of the most beautiful romantic songs of 2015 and no wonder it got 49,515,476 views.

DJ Waley Babu: This is one of the most popular party songs of 2015. Sung by rapper Badshah and Aastha Gill, "DJ Waley Babu" has 43,114,632 hits.

Selfie Le Le Re: Another chartbuster song featuring Salman Khan is "Selfie Le Le Re" from "Bajrangi Bhaijaan". Sung by Vishal Dadlani, Nakash Aziz and Pritam, this song has 12,758,084 views.

Afghan Jalebi: This track from the movie "Phantom" featured Katrina Kaif and was sung by Asrar. It is a fast number and claimed views at a fast pace too, totalling 42,157,666 hits.

Sun Sathiya: This song is from "ABCD 2" stars Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor. It is a slow soulful track, coupled with some beautiful dance steps by the actors. "Sun Sathiya" received 28,386,436 views.

Gerua: Starring Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, this song recreated the magical chemistry between the pair. "Gerua" was the first song from the movie "Dilwale" and has got 33,755,616 views.

Tumhe Apna Banane Ka: This was the first song released from the movie "Hate Story 3". Featuring Sharman Joshi and Zareen Khan, this song video became quite popular, both for the beautiful music and lyrics as well as for the love-making scenes. It has earned 21,722,520 views till date.

Main Rahoon Ya Na Rahoon: Starring Emraan Hashmi and Esha Gupta, this is again a single produced by T-Series. Sung by Armaan Malik, the recently released song became quite popular and claimed 19,182,985 views.

Sonakshi Sinha ‘would love to’ collaborate with Honey Singh, Mika Singh

Actress Sonakshi Sinha “couldn’t be happier” to unveil her first single “Aaj mood ishqholic hai” – a track with strong hip-hop beats. And now, she wants to join forces with popular singers like Honey Singh and Mika.

“I’ve always believed in learning from experience and we have such amazing artistes that I would love to collaborate with. Honey Singh, Badshah, Manj from RDB, Vishal-Shekhar, Salim-Sulaiman, Hard Kaur, and Mika are some of the Indian artistes whom I really admire in this space and would love to work with them as a singer,” Sonakshi told IANS.Internationally, she shared that it would be “so exciting” to work with Adele, Beyonce Knowles and Ed Sheeran.

As of now, she is excited about her single that was unveiled on Wednesday (December 23). With music by Meet Bros and lyrics of Kumaar, the song, which showcases her rapping skills, has been released by T-Series.

“I was super excited. I chose the genre that I wanted to sing and was involved with the song right from its conception. I am very clear in my head about the kind of songs I want to do, and what space they will be in. Along with Meet Bros, Kumaar and T-Series, I believe I got the perfect first song for me. I couldn’t be happier,” said the “Dabangg” actress.

The video has been viewed 7,38,885 times on YouTube till now, and she is happy with the response.

“Today everything is digital. So yes, I think releasing something online creates a great buzz and reaches out to an audience internationally too! As soon as the song hit (online), I got an amazing response not only from Indian fans but from people from Iraq, Malaysia, South Africa, US and UK too,” she said.

In fact, she likes to be hooked to social media.

“It’s a direct link from me to my fans. Everything has an upside and a downside but luckily enough for me the social media experience has been more positive than negative. I enjoy it and have grown up in the time that it started booming as well so it comes as second nature to me. It’s a wonderful tool to interact with and reach out to the people who really care about you from all over the globe,” said the 28-year-old.

A few months back, she rocked the stage of International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Weekend and Awards. Does she plan to do a full-fledged concert soon?

“That is a dream which is probably not so far away. I want to make enough songs so I can have my own concert one day. Being on stage, gives me a different high. I’ve danced on stage an umpteen number of times but the kind of feeling I got when I sang at IIFA was incomparable. I want to feel that again and I hope I do that very soon,” she said.

Fans will have to wait for that for a while as she is currently filming “Force 2” .

Google, like last year has revealed its YouTube top trending videos list of 2015 for India. Apart from revealing the trending videos for the country, the YouTube team also revealed global hits.

From the list of trending videoson the YouTube Rewind (India) Channel, the top trending Indian music video of 2015 is Dheere Dheere Se Meri Zindagi, which features Bollywood actor Hritik Roshan and is sung by Honey Singh. The video has been viewed nearly 90 million times. Other music videos following Dheere Dheere Se Meri Zindagi are Chittiyaan Kalaiyaan, DJ Wale Babu, and Me Hu Hero Tera. Ellie Goulding's Love Me Like You Do music video also made it to the top trending music videos in India.

Kareena Kapoor Khan grooves to Yo Yo Honey Singh

Looks like R Balki's Ki And Ka will move to the beat of a new drum. Moving away from the usual flavour of the music in his films, Balki will now have Kareena Kapoor Khan and Arjun Kapoor groove to High Heels by Yo Yo Honey Singh and Jaz Dhami. 


Apparently, when Arjun first heard the song in Bhushan Kumar's office, he couldn't stop listening to it and made Balki listen to the song. And to everyone's surprise, Balki loved the song and asked the Meet Bros to rework it for the film, after which it was recently shot at Mehboob Studio in Mumbai, with Kareena in a 32-kg lehenga and Arjun reportedly shirtless. Moreover, Balki also had Bhushan Kumar produce the music for the rest of the album as well, which supposedly has five songs.


Well, it looks like Kareena is set to take screens by storm in her high heels.

MUMBAI: The youngest Nobel Peace Prize winner may make headlines for her bravery and accomplishments, but at the end of the day she is still a teenager and sibling rivalries and celebrity crushes are very much a part of her life.
In an interview with Times of India, Malala Yousafzai got candid and opened up about her favorite Bollywood star, film and much more.
When asked about what interests her in her free time, Malala said she listens to music and watches movies like the rest of us. “I love listening to peppy music — rap by Honey Singh. I also watch films with my friends and go to restaurants. The last movie I watched was ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ and loved it. I clapped non-stop when the film ended.”
She also revealed that she found the toilet humor in Bollywood movie ‘Piku’ hilarious — it always makes her laugh out loud. Apart from movies, the 18-year-old used to enjoy watching Indian dramas when she was in Pakistan, however now that she’s living in the UK, her busy schedule doesn’t allow her to watch those shows.
Her favorite Bollywood actor is King Khan. “I think Shah Rukh Khan possesses some kind of a Midas touch. Whatever he does is absolutely perfect. I love all his films which I’ve watched, ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’ being an all-time favorite,” she gushed.

T-Series Ropes in Mithoon, Yo Yo Honey Singh for R. Balki’s ‘Ki and Ka’ Score

MUMBAI — Remember “PK,” for which T-Series insisted on Ankit Tiwari doing a song? In the forthcoming “Wazir” too, other composers have come in at the behest of Bhushan Kumar besides the same Shantanu Moitra, the Vidhu Vinod Chopra favorite, who despite hits like “Parineeta” and “3 Idiots,” is no longer the solo composer for Chopra’s films.

One flop (“Shamitabh”) and R. Balki finds himself in the same unenviable position of succumbing to T-Series’ self-appointed role as music producer. The T-Series cohorts Mithoon and Yo Yo Honey Singh have been roped in for the score of his latest film “Ki and Ka," starring Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor. Not only is Amitabh Bachchan no longer in the cast (though he does a cameo), but the filmmaker had to take a break from his regular composer, South titan Ilayaraja, who the filmmaker calls the raison d’etre for wanting to make films.
However, Balki has gotten the veteran to do a track too, as he cannot imagine a film minus the legend, and presumably, since he will also be composing the background score.
He has told a Mumbai tabloid tersely: “Ilayaraja is the music director of the film. He has done the main song and is also doing the music of the film.”

Such is the situation for music in a film today.

For the third year in running, Sunny Leone is the most searched person on Google in India. She is also the most searched Indian globally. Meanwhile, the Prime Minister who was the second most searched person in Google India last year has gone down 8 positions.

Yo Yo Honey Singh & Jaz Dhami’s song High Heels to feature in ‘Ki & Ka’

Not long ago, Arjun Kapoor shared a selfie from the shoot of a song that he was shooting for with Kareena Kapoor Khan and Bosco Martis for their forthcoming movie ‘Ki and Ka’, directed by R Balki. It’s emerged that the song is actually Yo Yo Honey Singh and Jaz Dhami’s High Heels which T-Series head Bhushan Kumar fell in love with thanks to Arjun.

According to Mumbai Mirror, Kumar said, “To our surprise, Balki loved it”. It was a surprise that Balki was in favour as it’s a far cry from what he is usually known to feature in his films’ albums. “When Balki heard the original song, he appointed me as the “music producer” for his film. He requested for an album of five tracks”.

Kumar continued, “No one has heard this kind of music in a Balki film before. He gave me complete creative freedom with the music but was hands-on with this one song”.

Kapoor Khan is believed to have worn a 32kg lehenga for the song which is something many will be waiting to see.

Popular Punjabi rapper Bohemia is known for his meaningful lyrics and the 35-year-old feels that he left a big “void” in his music by ­focusing more on ­lyrics, rather than adapting to popular culture. His genre of music is one which people like listening to rather than shaking a leg on. The Paisey Da Nasha hitmaker credits Yo Yo Honey Singh for filling that void and feels that the latter is famous because “he did his own thing”. “His songs are more ­oriented for the ­popular culture. When you listen to his songs, you feel like ­dancing to them. There’s a lot of fun element to them. My niece listens to Paani Paani and ­immediately starts dancing,” says Bohemia, who visited Fever 104 FM studios recently. 

“Honey filled the void that I created with my music. People ­listen to my music for lyrics. They try to find meaning in it. Honey’s songs don’t focus much on lyrics. He came first and did his own thing, which was to ­create songs that were  more pop than rap. And I really have a lot of respect for that,” he adds.  The Karachi-born rapper also feels that unlike him, Yo Yo Honey Singh didn’t have a tough life. “I have faced a lot in my life. One of my cousins is on a ­murder trial. And there are many experiences like that. And that’s what my songs do. They are about my experiences. I try and tell people what these ­experiences mean to me,” he says, adding,  “But Yo Yo Honey Singh never had to face all that. So why should he write about that? I don’t think that you have to go through a lot in life to make music.”

Yo Yo Honey Singh’s Remake of ‘Dheere Dheere’ Goes Viral

Time for a throwback: the date is July 23, 1990 and Mahesh Bhatt’s romantic drama “Aashiqui” has just hit theaters across India. Rahul Roy and Anu Aggarwal play their namesakes in the movie, and “Aashiqui” is the story of the ups and down of their pyaar ki kahaani.

The movie was a phenomenal box-office success, almost entirely in part thanks to the soundtrack. After an almost unbearable 10 or so years without a single decent Bollywood soundtrack, listeners across the world were shocked by the melodious songs in the “Aashiqui” soundtrack.  Playback singers Anuradha Paudwal and Kumar Sanu, along with music directors Nadeem-Shravan and lyricist Sameer, all won Filmfare awards for their work.

Now, 25 years since the release of this mega hit soundtrack, rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh chose to pay tribute to Gulshan Kumar, the founder of the T-Series music label and one of the producers of “Aashiqui,” by recreating the classic “Dheere Dheere.”

Singh keeps the main refrain from the original song, but much of the rest is distinctly different and strongly influenced by his personal style. Since the music video’s release on YouTube on September 1, it has already gotten more than 20 million views.

This success is largely thanks to the glamorous cinematography in Turkey along with the impressive onscreen presence of both Sonam Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan.
